AION 2 has introduced another round of gameplay adjustments and content improvements with its October 28, 2026 update. The latest patch focuses on improving combat balance, making challenging PvE encounters more accessible, and giving players additional opportunities to collect valuable rewards.

For Daevas looking to strengthen their characters, understanding the latest changes is important. From class adjustments and Expedition balance changes to new attendance rewards and shop additions, this update brings several changes that may influence daily progression and resource management.

Expedition and Transcendence Bosses Receive Major Balance Adjustments

One of the most important changes in this update concerns Expedition and Transcendence encounters. NCSoft has reduced several boss stats to make difficult PvE content more manageable, particularly for players who are still developing their characters.

The adjustments vary depending on the difficulty and stage:

ContentAdjustment
Normal ExpeditionBoss Attack reduced by 15%
Transcendence Stage 1Boss Attack reduced by 15%
Hard Expedition Stages 2–4Boss Attack and Damage Boost reduced by 10%
Hard Transcendence Stages 2–4Boss Attack and Damage Boost reduced by 10%
Transcendence Stages 1–2Boss HP reduced by 6.5%

These changes should make boss encounters less punishing. Lower-progression characters will have a better chance of surviving powerful attacks, while groups tackling higher difficulty stages will have more opportunities to react to dangerous mechanics.

The HP reduction in Transcendence is particularly useful because it lowers the possibility of prolonged encounters ending in a boss Frenzy state.

Urugugu Canyon and Vakron Sky Island Hard Mode: New Rewards and Requirements

The October update also introduces Hard mode for two Expedition dungeons: Urugugu Canyon and Vakron Sky Island.

Players must meet an item level requirement of 2,700 to enter. Both dungeons feature a four-minute boss Frenzy timer, and each player can use a maximum of three revives.

However, the increased difficulty comes with more attractive rewards, including additional Kina and valuable progression materials.

The new Ariel Fragments are particularly important because they can be converted into other useful resources through Substance Morph.

Ariel Fragment Conversion Guide

Players have two main conversion options:

Required MaterialsResultConversion Limit
100 Ariel Fragments1 Daevanion Crystal: Ariel (Bound)30 times per character
1 Ariel Fragment5 Enhance StonesUnlimited

The Daevanion Crystal: Ariel conversion is available through Substance Morph under Special – Daevanion. Enhance Stones can be obtained through Special – Consumables.

Hard mode also introduces three additional Unique crafting materials:

  • Wrathful Mind
  • Wrathful Will
  • Wrathful Ego

Furthermore, new Expedition Hard achievements have been added, allowing players to unlock Unique Skins through achievement progression.

For players who want to improve their equipment efficiently, these dungeons offer several reasons to become part of their regular PvE rotation.

Class Balance Changes: All Eight Classes Receive More HP

Survivability is another major focus of the October 28 update. NCSoft has increased the base HP of every class at level 45, with Gladiators and Templars receiving the largest improvements.

ClassPrevious HPNew HPIncrease
Gladiator4,7026,202+1,500
Templar4,7026,202+1,500
Assassin4,7025,702+1,000
Ranger4,7025,702+1,000
Sorcerer4,7025,702+1,000
Spiritmaster4,7025,702+1,000
Chanter4,7025,702+1,000
Cleric4,7025,702+1,000

These HP improvements complement the Expedition boss damage reductions. Melee classes, especially Gladiators and Templars, should benefit considerably when fighting bosses at close range.

Assassin Receives Two Skill Improvements

Assassin is the only class receiving additional individual skill adjustments in this patch.

SkillPrevious EffectNew Adjustment
Heightened Sixth SenseLower HP effectIncreased to 1,000 / 2,000 / 4,000 HP
Illusive Clone90-second base cooldown60-second base cooldown

The Heightened Sixth Sense values correspond to skill levels 5, 10, and 20, respectively.

The shorter Illusive Clone cooldown gives Assassins more opportunities to use the skill during extended encounters. Combined with the increased HP effect, these changes improve the class's survivability and combat flexibility.

New Daily Dungeon: Odylium Repository

A new Daily Dungeon, Odylium Repository, has also been introduced.

Players can earn a fixed number of Soul Crystals (Bound) depending on their performance and clear points. This creates another opportunity to collect an important progression resource through daily PvE activities.

There is one important restriction: Odylium Repository shares its daily entry count with Daeva Bio-Research Base.

Players should therefore consider both dungeons before using their available daily entries. Choosing the activity that provides the most useful rewards for current progression will help avoid wasting limited opportunities.

Shop Changes and New Kina Purchase Options

The end of the server transfer period brings several changes to the Wind Breeze Merchants shop and Substance Morph system.

Instant Clear Ticket: Daily Dungeon (Bound) and Soul Crystal (Bound) will be moved from the former Wind Breeze Merchants Special shop category to Substance Morph's Special – Wind Breeze Merchants section. The corresponding special shop tab in Substance Morph will subsequently be removed.

The Odyle Energy purchase limits will also change:

Odyle Energy ItemPrevious ArrangementNew Arrangement
Odyle Energy (Bound)20 per characterRemoved
Odyle Energy (Bound)—4 per character weekly
Odyle Energy (Bound)—16 per server weekly

Other notable shop changes include:

  • The sale of Lower Abyss Rift Stone (7-day) will end.
  • Instant Clear Ticket: Nightmare (Bound) will become available.
  • Up to 14 Nightmare tickets can be purchased per server each week, costing 30,000 Kina each.
  • Instant Clear Ticket: Daily Dungeon (Bound) will also have a weekly purchase limit of 14 per server, at 30,000 Kina each.

These adjustments make Kina management increasingly relevant for players who regularly purchase dungeon entry tickets and other progression-related items.

Crafted Gear Progression: Higher Amplify Caps and New Transfer Paths

Another important improvement concerns the relationship between Crafted Gear and Expedition Gear.

Previously, differences in Amplify limits could make equipment progression less flexible. The new update raises the maximum Amplify levels of several Crafted Gear categories and introduces additional equipment transfer options.

New Crafted Gear Amplify Limits

Crafted Gear TypePrevious MaximumNew Maximum
True Dragon / Star Dragon13
Splendent True Dragon / Splendent Star Dragon13
White Dragon / Dark Dragon35
Splendent White Dragon / Splendent Dark Dragon35

The update also introduces two new transfer paths:

Source EquipmentDestination Equipment
Tier 3 Expedition GearTier 2 Crafted Gear
Tier 2 Expedition GearTier 1 Crafted Gear

NCSoft also provides an equipment transfer example: Enraged Kromede Necklace can be transferred into a White Dragon Lord Necklace.

The goal is to make Crafted Gear and Expedition Gear with comparable stats share the same maximum Amplify level. This should give players more flexibility when upgrading equipment instead of feeling locked into a single progression route.

Atreia's Call: 28-Day Attendance Event and Rewards

The Atreia's Call attendance event begins after the October 28 maintenance and runs until the December 2 maintenance.

Players can access the event through In-Game Menu – Attendance. Logging in daily allows Daevas to collect a variety of useful progression materials.

Some of the most valuable rewards include:

Attendance DayRewardQuantity
Day 1Resurrection Spiritstone (Bound)5
Day 2Artisan's Roasted Fogus (Bound)5
Day 3Soul Codex: Reset (Bound)3
Day 4Life Crystal (Bound)10
Day 5Battle Enhance Scroll (Bound)10
Day 6Soul Crystal (Bound)2,000
Day 7Odyle Energy (Bound)2
Day 10Content Usage Ticket Selection Chest (Bound)1
Day 11Unknown Fissure Challenge Ticket (Bound)2
Day 13Soul Crystal (Bound)2,000
Day 20Soul Crystal (Bound)2,000
Day 27Soul Crystal (Bound)2,000
Day 28Odyle Energy (Bound)2

The remaining days also provide Resurrection Spiritstones, Battle Enhance Scrolls, Artisan's Roasted Fogus, Life Crystals, and other useful items.

The biggest attraction is the repeated Soul Crystal and Odyle Energy rewards. Players who consistently log in throughout the event can build up a useful stockpile of resources without relying entirely on dungeon farming.

New Cosmetics, Pets, and Wings

The October 28 update also introduces several cosmetic products for players interested in customizing their characters.

The new additions include two armor skin sets, a collection of class-specific weapon skins, two pets, and a new wing appearance.

The two new pets are priced at $19.99 each, while Maid Ribbon Wings also cost $19.99.

Most of these cosmetic products are available during the October 28–November 10 sales period in PDT, or through November 11 in CET, depending on the product and regional schedule.

Daeva Pass: Prelude to Flight

A new Daeva Pass titled Prelude to Flight is available from October 28 until December 2, 2026.

Players can choose between two versions:

The pass rewards include Odyle Energy, Battle Enhance Scrolls, Resurrection Spiritstones, Unknown Fissure Challenge Tickets, and Nightmare Dungeon Challenge Tickets.

For active players, completing regular daily and weekly activities is a practical way to progress through the pass without spending additional time on separate farming sessions.

Gathering Restrictions, Abyss Changes, and Other Improvements

Beyond the major content additions, NCSoft has introduced several adjustments to daily gameplay and account management.

The gathering system now has a daily limit of 1,000 gathering attempts per server. The limit resets at midnight PDT, and the minimum character level required for gathering has increased from level 10 to level 45.

Other notable changes include:

  • Character deletion waiting time has increased from 1 day to 7 days to prevent repeated character deletion and creation abuse.
  • The inactivity timeout has been reduced from 3 hours to 30 minutes.
  • Hidden Cubes will spawn more frequently.
  • Abyss entry limits have been increased, allowing more players to participate.
  • Lower Abyss Dimensional Core HP has been increased.
  • A new Dissipation of Power debuff will weaken the Lower Abyss Dimensional Core when an Artifact Battle lasts at least 10 minutes.

The patch also fixes several issues, including incorrect Ariel and Azphel Daevanion positions in the character progression summary, invisible characters during PvP, and certain Season Missions failing to progress after defeating the required boss.

NCSoft will announce the schedule for server-transfer-related item retrieval and restoration separately. Eligible EU players will also receive entry passes that failed to reset correctly on October 25.

What the October 28 Update Means for AION 2 Players

The October 28 update is a substantial progression-focused patch. Rather than introducing only new content, NCSoft has addressed several systems that directly affect how players develop their characters.

The new Hard modes in Urugugu Canyon and Vakron Sky Island provide additional sources of Kina, crafting materials, Ariel Fragments, and other valuable rewards. Meanwhile, the increased class HP and reduced boss damage should make challenging PvE encounters more accessible.

For players focused on long-term equipment development, the higher Crafted Gear Amplify limits and additional transfer paths are particularly important. They create more flexibility when deciding how to invest enhancement resources.

Kina also remains an important part of this progression loop, especially with the introduction of purchasable Nightmare and Daily Dungeon tickets. Players should plan their spending around the activities and materials they need most.

One important reminder: NCSoft has explicitly warned that purchasing Kinah or Quna from unauthorized third-party sellers violates its Terms of Service and can result in account termination. Players researching options to Buy Aion 2 Kinah should understand these restrictions before making any transaction. Always prioritize legitimate in-game methods and account security.
