Warrior is one of the most straightforward class choices in MapleStory Classic World, but that does not mean there are no important decisions to make. With high HP, heavy armor, close-range attacks, and STR-based damage, Warriors are designed for players who enjoy getting into the middle of a fight rather than attacking from a distance.
This guide covers the Warrior progression from level 1 through the third job, including stat priorities, first-job skills, useful equipment, training areas, and the major job choices at levels 30 and 70. For players planning their first character, understanding these fundamentals is more valuable than rushing into expensive gear or trying to copy an untested build.
Warrior Stats: STR First, DEX When Needed
STR is the primary stat for Warriors and directly supports their melee damage. DEX also matters because Warrior weapons have DEX requirements as they progress.
For example, the level 15 Battle Axe requires 30 STR and 10 DEX, while the level 35 Cutlus requires 70 STR and 30 DEX. This means completely ignoring DEX can eventually prevent you from equipping certain weapons.
For a new character, the practical approach is to prioritize STR while maintaining enough DEX to meet the equipment requirements you are targeting. Avoid spending resources on unnecessary stat changes simply because another player uses a different distribution.
Levels 1–10: Start as a Beginner
Every Warrior begins on Maple Island as a Beginner. Your first objective is simple: reach level 10.
There is no Warrior-specific build decision during this stage, so focus on completing the available training and collecting useful drops. One particularly convenient item is the Wooden Sword dropped by Red Snails, which can serve as a level 10 Warrior weapon.
Once you reach level 10 and meet the required STR threshold, travel to Victoria Island and head toward Perion.
Becoming a Warrior in Perion
Perion is the home of the Warrior class. At level 10, speak with Dances with Balrog and begin the Path of the Warrior advancement quest.
The quest requires you to enter the designated trial area and defeat monsters to obtain the required proof before returning to Dances with Balrog. Bringing Red Potions is recommended because the monsters in the trial can deal noticeably more damage than the enemies encountered by most Beginners.
Once the quest is completed, you officially become a Warrior.
First Job Warrior Skills
The first-job Warrior skill set is built around three main areas: offense, survivability, and accuracy.
Power Strike and Slash Blast
Power Strike is the main single-target attack and can be raised to level 20. One point in Power Strike unlocks Slash Blast, which can also reach level 20 and attacks multiple nearby enemies.
A simple combat rule works well:
- Power Strike for single targets
- Slash Blast when fighting groups
- Use Slash Blast more frequently on dense monster maps
This makes the skill chain particularly useful while leveling because Warriors naturally spend a lot of time fighting enemies at close range.
Improved HP Recovery and Max HP Increase
Survivability is another major advantage of the Warrior class.
Improved HP Recovery increases natural HP regeneration and improves recovery from healing items. Three points in it unlock Max HP Increase, which can reach level 15. Three points in Max HP Increase then unlock Iron Body.
For a first character, these skills are especially useful because stronger HP management can reduce the pressure on your potion supply.
Precise Strikes
Precise Strikes provides Accuracy and Critical Rate without requiring another skill as a prerequisite. It is therefore an important part of the Warrior's long-term offensive foundation.
The exact skill-point order is not fully established yet because Classic World is still in its early stage, so players should treat current recommendations as flexible rather than absolute.
Warrior Gear Worth Hunting
One of the strengths of the Warrior class is its broad weapon selection. Warriors can use swords, axes, blunt weapons, spears, and polearms.
Instead of trying to purchase every upgrade immediately, pay attention to monster drops while leveling. Several useful Warrior items come from enemies you are likely to fight naturally.
Some notable examples include:
| Level | Item | Source |
| 10 | Bronze Koif | Orange Mushroom |
| 10 | Long Sword | Orange Mushroom |
| 15 | Battle Axe | Bubbling |
| 15 | Steel Fingerless Gloves | Horny Mushroom |
| 20 | Machete | Dark Axe Stump |
