EA Sports has launched the Game Time program in Madden NFL 27 Ultimate Team, giving players a limited-time set of challenges, player items, events, Sets, and Field Pass rewards tied to the opening weeks of the NFL season. The program is available through September 24 at 1:30 p.m. ET, with additional content scheduled to arrive during the program window.
For players looking to strengthen their Ultimate Team lineup, Game Time provides several ways to earn new cards and Coins without relying entirely on the Store. The program also introduces new player items representing every NFL team as EA expands the early-season Ultimate Team content pool.
Madden NFL 27 Game Time Program: What’s Included
The Game Time program launched on September 15 and is scheduled to receive another major content update on September 17. Across both updates, EA says more than 20 new Player Items will enter the available pool.
The first wave includes 88 OVR LTD Tucker Kraft of the Green Bay Packers, who remains available in the Store's Player Item pool through September 22. Two 87 OVR Champions, Buffalo Bills running back James Cook III and Detroit Lions safety Brian Branch, are also included.
The September 17 update expands the program further with additional Heroes, Champions, LTDs, and an earnable player tied to the H2H event.
More Game Time Players Arrive on September 17
The second Game Time update adds 87 OVR free safety Malaki Starks of the Baltimore Ravens as an H2H reward. Players can earn him by reaching Tier 4 in either version of the Game Time: Clock's Ticking H2H Event.
EA is also adding 16 additional 84 OVR Heroes, completing the program's coverage across all 32 NFL teams. Four more 87 OVR Champions will be added as well, giving players additional options through Game Time Sets and Packs.
Two LTD players will also enter the Pack pool from September 17 through September 24: Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Ladd McConkey and Las Vegas Raiders WILL linebacker Quay Walker.
Challenges and the Clock’s Ticking Event
Game Time is built around more than just collectible cards. Players can work through Challenges, participate in H2H and CPU Events, and progress through the Game Time Field Pass.
The program's Clock's Ticking content gives players another route toward rewards, while the broader Challenge structure includes additional objectives during the second half of the program.
The official Game Time event page also lists 40 Challenges across the AFC and NFC. Completing the full Challenge sequence unlocks an additional series that rewards an exclusive Game Time Challenge Player.
Game Time Sets Offer Multiple Upgrade Paths
Players can exchange lower-rated Player Items for higher-rated Game Time rewards through the program's Sets.
The available Set progression includes:
- 80 OVR Game Time Elite Fantasy Pack — 3x 78-79 OVR players
- 82 OVR Game Time Elite Fantasy Pack — 2x 80 OVR Game Time Players + 1x 80-81 OVR player
- 84 OVR Game Time Hero Fantasy Pack — 2x 82 OVR Game Time Players
- 87 OVR Game Time Champion Fantasy Pack — 3x 84 OVR Game Time Players + 2x 84-85 OVR players
The Fantasy Pack rewards allow players to select a Game Time Player Item that can be added to their lineup, traded through the Auction House, or saved for another Set.
Field Pass Rewards Include More Madden NFL 27 Coins
The Game Time Field Pass ties together Challenges, Sets, Events, and general Ultimate Team activity.
The free track offers up to 32,000 Coins, three Game Time Strategy Item Fantasy Packs, several BND Game Time Player Items, and a Game Time 82 OVR Evolution reward.
Players who purchase the Premium Pass for 1,000 MP can earn up to another 85,000 Coins, bringing the total potential Coin rewards across both tracks to 117,000. The Premium Pass also includes additional BND Game Time Player Packs and an 80+ OVR Platinum Player that can be quicksold for Coins.
For players focused on building a competitive Ultimate Team roster, managing these rewards efficiently can be just as important as adding individual high-rated cards. Some players may also look at external options when planning how to Buy Madden NFL 27 Coins, although the in-game Field Pass already provides a substantial Coin route during the event.
Game Time Ends September 24
The Game Time program will be archived on September 24 at 1:30 p.m. ET. At that point, the Field Pass, limited-time Tug of War Event, Welcome Pack, and Evolutions associated with the program will no longer be available.
However, Game Time Champion, Hero, and Elite Player Items can continue appearing in Packs after the program ends, while the program's Sets will remain available alongside Sets from other programs.
As the Madden NFL 27 season continues, programs such as Game Time are becoming an important part of Ultimate Team's ongoing roster-building cycle. Players looking to track card values, Coin management, and roster upgrades can also follow Madden NFL 27 community resources such as EZBUFF while working through the latest content.
